Like you, she does not want to deal with the constant reminders she has D. I feel Afrezza is a real game-changer, BUT its effectiveness is really reliant upon cgms. It is speedy fast, but usually needs a follow up dose an hour after eating. The cgms is necessary to see exactly when the sugars start to rise. WITH cgms, Afrezza would be incredible. Tresiba, while better than Lantus, is still one flat dose of insulin for the day. Unfortunately, my DDs basal pattern is not flat; she has three basal patterns and if you fine tune it, four. A pump with Afrezza for the first insulin response and the rest of the dose given through the pump would also be huge improvement, as the pump dose would take care of the slower digesting carbs. And the pump for basal. Afrezza for all highs, as it corrects even a very high sugar in an hour. But I long for SmartInsulin and at least two companies are racing to introduce it. Artificial pancreas? Great but how to convince DD to wear three sites? It's been ten years and very little change in how diabetes is treated. And worse the improvements are invasive. Can we have an implanted cgms? Please? I, too, am frustrated.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5248101319829846491.post-88484168607545797102016-05-05T00:16:32.258-07:002016-05-05T00:16:32.258-07:00Hi!!! Unfortunately, the product they were focusing on (inhaled insulin delivery) wasn't "catching up" quite as quickly as necessary. I only give this background as this was such an amazing company! The true compassion and leadership from the top down is some of the best around. I'm not surprised at all to hear you felt the same way about them. I expect great things from this company.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07128665687299503530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5248101319829846491.post-37129684766582225382016-04-11T18:27:14.025-07:002016-04-11T18:27:14.025-07:00Cool! I love the idea of using it with a pump just for boluses and, if needed, basal oomphs.
